Social Science Schools

Social science is the general term used to incorporate subjects that study human aspects of the world. Social sciences are different from arts and humanities because curriculums typically focus on the use of the scientific method in the study of humanity, including quantitative and qualitative methods. Most social science curriculums have to do with people and how people change the world and society. Some graduate schools and law schools favor students who have a background in social sciences if those students are pursuing a degree related to a field of social study. Some examples of social science degrees include sociology, criminal justice, and political science, history, homeland security, law, legal studies, paralegal studies, public administration, and public safety. Students who want to serve as social workers, directors of social programs, and direct care support staff to those who cannot live on their own can benefit from a degree in the social sciences.
